WHAT IS PROFHILO?
Profhilo is a revolutionary moisturising treatment that hydrates the skin from within. A hyaluronic acid gel which has a prolonged stimulating activity on the dermal cells. When injected into the skin, Profhilo stimulates skin cell receptors to improve collagen and elastin production, counteracting skin laxity and restoring firmness of the skin.
One of the highest product concentrations of hyaluronic acid on the market, Profhilo not only boosts and hydrates the skin, but also remodels ageing and sagging tissue. An excellent treatment for clients who want to improve the quality of their skin with minimal downtime and discomfort.
Hyaluronic acid is hydrophilic, meaning it draws and retains water in the body, thereby acting as a hydrator rather than a filler that only fills in wrinkles and adds volume to the skin temporarily. PROFHILO BODY
Profhilo Body is a new treatment specifically focusing on the skin laxity of the abdomen and inner arms. Utilising the same technology as Profhilo for the face, neck, hands and decolletage, Profhilo Body helps to remodel the skin and improve skin laxity. It is currently the only treatment available on the market that is targeted specifically for skin laxity of the arms and stomach.

WHO IS SUITABLE FOR PROFHILO TREATMENT?
Profhilo is suitable for both men and women with mild to moderate signs of aging skin as well as offering skin benefits for clients of all ages (over 18). However, it is mostly recommended for clients between the ages of 30-50 who are looking for an effective treatment to hydrate their skin and improve skin laxity, elasticity and fine lines.
Profhilo is not suitable for clients who have / are:

Have an active skin infection in the treatment area, such as cold sores or acne.

BEFORE TREATMENT
An initial consultation will be carried out at our clinic in Sidcup to assess your medical history and discuss the problems you are experiencing with your skin.
Once we have determined that you would be suitable for the treatment and consent is obtained, the skin will be cleaned and prepared ready for treatment.
DURING TREATMENT
You will receive a total of 10 subcutaneous injections of Profhilo using an extremely fine needle and using the Bio Aesthetic Points (BAP) technique. The BAP technique maximises the diffusion in the malar and sub-malar areas by injecting the five key points on the face, the nasolabial folds, chin, under the eyes, top of the cheeks and the area next to the ears.
After injection, the hyaluronic acid gel disperses beneath the skin to improve hydration without the need for massage and without the risk of leaving lumps.
Pain is minimal. Topical numbing creams are available if requested but are often not required.
AFTER TREATMENT
Usually the product disperses quickly once injected into the skin however, sometimes this can take a little longer, if this is the case you may have small raised bumps at the injection sites until the skin absorbs all of the product which could take up to 24 hours.
Results of Profhilo treatments will not be seen immediately, they are properly seen four weeks after the second treatment.
AFTERCARE
Avoid touching or applying make-up to the treated area for 24 hours to prevent infection.
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM THE TREATMENT
Profhilo usually works to smooth and hydrate the skin from the very first treatment but results are more noticeable after the second treatment as it takes time to work. By having 2-3 treatments, it allows the product to remain in the skin for a longer period of time, resulting in longer-lasting results.
Stimulating collagen and elastin production to naturally improve the volume, firmness and elasticity of the skin takes time. Results will usually last up to 6 months post-treatment and a repeat cycle is recommended once the initial cycle is over.
The second treatment should be carried out one month after the first treatment and then every 6-9 months for a single treatment for maximum results.
RISKS / SIDE EFFECTS
As with all non-surgical aesthetic treatments, there is a risk of side effects such as minor bruising, swelling and redness at the injection sites. These do not usually occur with Profhilo treatments and disappear quickly when they do.
