JAWLINE FILLERS
Jawline fillers are becoming increasingly popular for both men & women at Dani Louise Aesthetics clinics in Sidcup. Dermal fillers can be injected to augment & contour the jawline. Whether its just a little more definition you want or to create a more masculine jawline, this can be achieved with dermal filler.
Jawline filler can also help clients who find they are starting to develop jowls or skin laxity of the lower face by adding volume at targeted areas of the jaw. Not all clients are suitable for jawline fillers, book in for a consultation so that we can assess your facial anatomy and devise a treatment plan at our Kent clinic.
WHAT IS JAWLINE FILLER
Jawline filler is a non-surgical treatment where hyaluronic acid dermal filler is injected into targeted areas of the dermis for many reasons but most commonly to create a defined separation of the jawline and neck.
WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM JAWLINE FILLERS?
People choose to have jawline fillers for many reasons, mainly because they want a more defined jaw. Jaw filler can also help in the following ways:
-
Reduces the signs of ageing such as sagging skin, jowls, fine lines and wrinkles
-
Correcting asymmetry
-
Contouring the face
-
Creating a more chiselled, masculine jawline by adding volume
-
Create a sharper mandibular angle
-
Improving or elongating the side profile
AM I SUITABLE FOR JAWLINE FILLERS?
The majority of clients who want jawline fillers are unsuitable. This can be due to various reasons such as the size of the masseter muscle, anatomy and amount of fatty tissue present in the area. Some clients may need to have Botox treatments prior to filler depending on the masseter muscle. It is best to book a consultation so we can assess your face in person to determine if you would be a good candidate for jawline fillers.
Jawline fillers would also be unsuitable for clients under 18, pregnant or breastfeeding and contra-indicated due to medical reasons.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING TREATMENT?
On treatment day the skin will be cleaned and prepared and numbing cream is applied. Dermal fillers are injected into certain areas along the jawline usually via a cannula which is a blunt needle. This means the pain level is very minimal and cannula is the safest method of injection in this area.
AFTER TREATMENT
Clients are usually able to see the results of jawline fillers immediately after treatment, however in some cases clients experience more swelling and it can be more difficult to see the intended results until the swelling subsides which can take a few days.
SIDE EFFECTS / RISKS
Dermal fillers are considered safe, and the majority of clients do not experience any complications.
Mild side effects associated to dermal filler treatments can be experienced such as swelling, bruising and redness at the injection sites.
HOW MUCH FILLER WILL I NEED FOR MY JAW?
This varies from person to person as there is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to dermal fillers. The amount of filler needed will depend on the desired effects from the treatment, for example a client wanting to completely define the jawline will need a lot more than somebody that wants to correct an asymmetry.
The jawline is a large area so generally takes more filler than other areas of the face, for first timers a minimum of 2-3ml is usually required, for male clients this can be more as men will require more filler in general for the jawline.
WHAT TYPE OF FILLER WILL BE USED?
At Dani Louise Aesthetics we only use hyaluronic acid dermal fillers which are easily dissolveable. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring body substance that keeps skin hydrated and full.
Hyaluronic acid fillers are injected subcutaneously when treating the jawline and dense fillers like Juvederm Volux are used.
HOW LONG DO JAWLINE FILLERS LAST?
Each client is different but jawline fillers usually last from 12-24 months and sometimes longer. Maintenance top ups will be required around every 12-18 months to keep the jawline looking “snatched”.
