BOTOX INJECTIONS
Muscle relaxing wrinkle injections are one of the most common injectable treatments at our Sidcup clinic. These injectables can be used on many areas of the face, including eye wrinkles, frown lines, forehead lines & for brow lifting & also face slimming.
Often when clients reach their mid to late twenties & thirties, they start noticing lines forming around their eyes & forehead. Sometimes others will say things to them like, “you look tired” or “are you OK, you look angry?” . The great news is that there is a simple solution to preventing & maintaining a youthful appearance using wrinkle injections.
HOW DO ANTI WRINKLE INJECTIONS WORK?
The muscle relaxing injections are injected using a fine needle into the facial muscles and it blocks the message from the nerve to the muscle, reducing the amount of contraction of that muscle causing reduced appearance of lines.
HOW LONG DO ANTI WRINKLE INJECTIONS LAST?
Anti wrinkle injections typically last between 4-6 months for most clients, in some cases this could be slightly less or more.
Timeline after muscle relaxing injections are injected:

At 2-8 days the lines begin to start reducing

At 4 weeks the maximal effect is achieved

From 4-8 weeks the result is maintained

At 8 weeks the effect slowly begins to start wearing off

At 12 weeks, the movement is about 50% back

At 16 weeks, the movement is about 80% back
Most clients choose to have retreatment at 3-4 months, however this varies between clients. Males, exercisers and those who are more muscular, may tend to require larger doses and more frequent doses. Botox can lost longer when you are in a regular routine.
ARE ANTI WRINKLE INJECTIONS SAFE?
Wrinkles injections are generally considered to be the lowest risk procedures. The risks and side effects may include:

Bruising and swelling at injection sites, this is common

Headache post injection 10%, mild, usually lasts 24hrs or less.

Eyebrow/eyelid droops in 2% of cases. Minor and temporary. Could last 3 weeks.

More than one treatment may be required to achieve the desired result.

Blurred vision. Temporary. Extremely rare.

Swallowing and breathing problems.

Infection is extremely rare

WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE LIKE?
Botox is super quick and super easy! The pain is minimal, most clients barely feel this treatment.
The procedure itself only takes 5 minutes, we set out longer for the appointment to run through the consultation and to prep the skin for injection.
You can expect to be at our clinic in Sidcup, Kent for 20-30 minutes in total for this treatment.
GUMMY SMILE
Gummy smile is most commonly caused by an overactive upper lip muscle that pulls the top lip up too high, revealing the gums.
This can easily be corrected by slightly relaxing the muscle with botox.
Clients that have severe cases may also benefit from lip filler alongside botox to treat gummy smile.
JAW SLIMMING
Jaw slimming injections are extremely popular in our Sidcup clinic. By injecting Botox into the masseter muscle, the muscle slowly reduces in size. Regular anti wrinkle injections will shrink the muscle further over time.
TEETH GRINDING
If you suffer from bruxism, Botox can help by relaxing the masseter muscle, which is the main muscle used for clenching and grinding the teeth.
